Meet Our Doctors
CYNTHIA (SNELL) VOLPE, M.D.
Board Certified Ophthalmologist
Dr. Volpe was born and raised in Columbia and after graduating from Dreher High School, attended the College of Charleston before returning home to earn her medical degree from the USC School of Medicine. She then completed a transitional year internship at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, followed by a four-year ophthalmology residency at USC School of Medicine. Dr. Volpe joined Eye Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia, P.A. in 1996 and is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist.
Cindy is married to Michael Volpe, has four grown children, a clan of grands, and enjoys “mowing therapy” on their Boykin farm. She is also a voracious reader, habitual walker, and has a heart for Jesus, mission work, and witnessing her patients’ glee after cataract surgery.
STACY STORY, M.D.
Board Certified Ophthalmologist
Dr. Story joined our practice in 2016. She is a graduate of the Palmetto Health and University of South Carolina Ophthalmology Residency program, where she served as Chief Resident her final two years. Dr. Story grew up in Lancaster, SC, the daughter of two ophthalmologists. She completed her undergraduate studies at Furman University and earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She also completed an internship in internal medicine there prior to moving to Columbia to complete her ophthalmology training. Dr. Story is currently serving her second two-year term as president of the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology, actively advocating for patient safety and access to quality eye care for the citizens of SC..
In her spare time, Stacy enjoys working in her yard and on projects around her home, and spending time with her friends and family. She is also active in her church where she teaches Sunday school and sings in the choir.
CALEB STORY, M.D.
Board Certified Ophthalmologist
Dr. Story is from Lancaster, SC, the son of two ophthalmologists (and the brother of a third—our own Stacy Story). He received his undergraduate degree from Anderson University in Anderson, SC, and his medical doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. While a student there, Caleb met his wife, Hailley Story, who practices Internal Medicine in northeast Columbia. He is a graduate of Prisma Health/USC Ophthalmology, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.
Caleb and Hailley enjoy cooking, gardening, and traveling, particularly when it involves bird watching.
